Darrell Slomiany

Since creating houses out of toys as a child, Darrell Slomiany has pursued creating and building structures as part of the urban fabric. His past experience at AJ Capitol Partners, Greenfield Partners, and the Public Building Commission of Chicago includes the project management for several boutique and limited service hotels, public schools, and commercial buildings.  Currently, Darrell is the Director of Development for Boulevard Hospitality where he is managing the adaptive reuse conversion of an existing office building into a 174 room boutique hotel.  Also, he is overseeing the development of the new Roadhouse and Junction limited service hotel brand.  While at AJ Capital Partners he oversaw the design, construction, and opening of over 900 Graduate Hotel guest rooms across the country.  His ventures in the boutique hotel market came as project manager for the 182 guest room Ace Hotel in downtown Los Angeles and the 337 guest room Standard Hotel in Manhattan’s Meat Packing District.  While working on the Standard Hotel, Darrell participating in the purchase and subsequent building of an 1,180 guest room limited service hotel portfolio.  His experience in the public building sector includes the project management for two building additions for the Chicago Public Schools and the construction of two beach comfort stations for the Chicago Park District.

Darrell was previously a licensed architect in the State of Illinois.  He was founder and owner of Slomiany Architecture where he designed 10 custom single family homes and several multi-family, multi-use, commercial, and retail buildings. Darrell was the project architect for several multi-family buildings while at DeStefano and Partners.  Darrell holds a Bachelor Degree of Architectural Studies and Masters Degree of Architecture from the University of Illinois.
