Parts and Labor Design

As Design Director at New York City-based Parts and Labor Design, Danu has her hands in nearly every project that the firm takes on, working through all phases and seeing the project to completion. One of Danu’s most notable projects to date is the recently opened Thompson Nashville, the city’s first true lifestyle hotel. Danu and her team created a residential-inspired design, one that celebrates Nashville’s creative spirit and attracts guests and locals alike. To convey this sense of upscale comfort, Danu thoughtfully curated handcrafted elements found throughout the hotel’s public spaces including the lobby, a restaurant and rooftop bar, as well as its guestrooms and suites. Other recently completed projects include Angeline at the Borgata Hotel & Casino in Atlantic City, which sets a new standard for casino restaurant design by offering guests a carefully considered dining experience. In addition, the Walnut Street Cafe, a new all-day eatery in Philadelphia’s FMC Tower, features a feminine color palette and intricate architectural detailing. Danu’s portfolio also includes Steadfast, a restaurant in Chicago’s historic New York Life Insurance Building. Picking up on the building’s historic, classical revival architecture, Danu’s design features both traditional and modern accents. Also in the building is Boleo, a bright and airy rooftop lounge that celebrates the old with luxurious midcentury accents and honors the new by offering a laid back tropical vibe.
