Diane has been involved in both design and fabrication for more than 45 years, beginning in her college years as a costume designer for theater productions. Later she became a designer of outerwear, including making the patterns and developing high-tech solutions for specific activity demands such as high altitude biking and climbing.
Eventually her interests in both historic designs (costuming), pattern-making and technical solutions led her to pursue a focus in mainly historic window treatment design, fabrication and installation. Ms. Kliebenstein developed a residential design business while managing her own drapery workroom, which led to the opportunity to work with ForrestPerkins as a dedicated Window Treatment Design and Specification specialist. Understanding the importance of appearance, operability, structural limitations for installation, details of elaborate design fabrication, and the way fabric itself moves and drapes has resulted in the successful installation of many complicated and large-scale Hospitality projects in the US, Canada, and the Middle East.
